This was my entry for a Orihime/Ichigo Bleach fanart contest with "Winter" in its theme. Thinking everyone would go for Christmas trees, snowmen, and mistletoe, I decided none of those things were really culturally relevant to the two characters and went for something that was Japanese in its context. Prior to the New Year, the Japanese clean out their houses and put things in order. Many go to their shrines to pray and partake in various activities.
The other concept I had in mind was cute, but this one I felt was a little more adult and subtle. I guess I like that dynamic between these two. You have a loud, brash guy who always seems to tone it down around the girl. You have a question about what they're wishing for as they stand at the same spot. This started off as a pencil sketch and I took it into Painter and painted it from there. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
