AWA 2009 artist alley assignments up (update)

.... this means serious weirdness... I mean business! Working on bookmarks, but this time, most of them are turning out without tassels because the first batch I forgot to format a certain way xD. And turns out I can't do audio with livestream and vista, but whenever I paint, I will be turning it on. I'll leave it on tonight.. ([link])

I think the biggest shock isn't that there are over 150 tables, but every single one is filled, and every single one has paid.

I think we're not any bigger than last year (it just was never consolidated) so I'm not surprised. But it is worth noting that people used to not pay until the last minute in the past. This time around we had a deadline, and those who didn't pay by a certain point were pushed to the waiting list and others brought off.

AAs are getting to be hugely popular these days as a "thing to do." The only thing I wonder about this year, though, is whether AA can hold its own with so many tables.

In years past the main AA was preferred over the AA marketplace as it had more traffic due to the fact that it was next to registration and in the middle of everything. Now it's in a convention hall to itself. It's not so much the tables, but moving the AA to its own space. As it stands, I'm scared it will get as little traffic as the art show.

Yeah - I think we'll have to see what happens. I'm not sure yet whether people will come out to see the AA, but I'm sure those who are particularly into it will still do so. The location change along with the content guidance (i.e., 50/50 original-fanart) and the economy might really make this a hard to predict year.
